Rita and Janie Invasion Day 4
Today was a rainy and not very warm day. Also all the kids were a little (okay maybe more than that) whiny. My brother Matt works at the school board office and received permission for us to take the kids to a local elementary school and let them run around in the gym. We took them to the elementary school I used to teach at. We walked the kids over while Rita and my mom finished making lunch to bring too. We played with balls, lacrosse sticks, rolling platforms and hula hoops. Of course it ended up with kids sitting on the platforms holding onto hula hoops while Janie, my mom and dad ran around the room pulling them by the hula hoop. Lots of fun! We got the parachute out and played a few different games with it. The kids loved when they got to run underneath and when we wrapped them up in it and then pulled it out quickly and they would spin. Afterward we went to the Strongstart room so that the kids could wind down and eat lunch. The cleaners had left everything stacked in one corner of the room so I went around and put everything back. By this time it was definitely nap time so we all headed to our respective homes for naps. We all got back together for dinner. First Credit Union was sponsoring Movie Night in the Park with the proceeds going towards Success by Six/ORCA bus. The movie was Wall-E. We packed the kids up in warm clothes, put blankets, popcorn and chairs in the back of my dad's truck and headed to a local park to watch the movie. It started to rain on the way in and it only got worse. The kids had fun dancing to the prelude music and playing in the ORCA bus. (On the Road with Children's Activies - a free traveling preschool) Emily was fascinated with the mascot, which was a Orca whale. But not enough to get close to it and give it a high five. Zerric loved it though. Matt took a picture on his cell phone of Zerric, Tyson, and Russell with the whale. They ended up postponing the movie to next week due to the downpour of rain. We decided to all go to Matt and Ashley's house, spread out blankets and watch Race to Witch Mountain. What I saw of the movie I liked. It started to get chaotic near the end of the movie and then Emily dirtied her fifth diaper of the day and I lost it. It was not a pretty sight. I pretty much lost any chance of wife/mother/sister/daughter of the year award. So we came home early. I'm hoping a good night's sleep will help me with my patience level. Tomorrow it is supposed to be nice and we will be heading to Willingdon Beach.
