Veggie Tales

My daughter is a fan. That is all I have to say. We have one of the sing a long DVDs. Here is Emily at the end of the theme song. Enjoy!
(She knows a lot of the words in the verses too but I didn't get it on film.)

Emily's Artwork

Emily has branched out from colouring on our walls with washable marker. She has discovered wax crayons. I came in from the car a few days ago to find her colouring me a rainbow on my kitchen floor. She was so proud of herself. I told her that she need to sit at her desk and colour on paper if she wanted to draw. She said okay. I walked into the living room, came back into the kitchen a minute later to find that she decided to colour everywhere! She got a scolding then. I tried to wash it off the floor with just water. Unfortuneately I forgot to take a before hand picture so the colour aren't quite as vibrant but they are still there. And they will probably stay there until this baby is born since I just don't have the energy to scrub the floor.

The cutest daughter in the world

A couple of days ago, I was feeling a little down in the dumps. Not sad but just a little down. I was having a little pity party and suddenly Emily was standing next to me. She climbed up onto my lap, wrapped her arms around my neck, and gave me a hug! I hugged her back so tightly. And suddenly she leaned back, then kissed me and said, "Luv Eww" (Love you). I kissed her back and told her I loved her. Then she scampered off to go back to her toys. This is why I became a
mom!

I love that her hair is getting long enough to pull back. She is starting to ask to go and do her hair. Except I think it has more to do with being able to stand and look in the mirror than her mom doing her hair!

Ethan and the Jumparoo

My nephew Ethan concurs with Emily: Jumparoo's are awesome. Except he knows the importance of protective gear!

Making Cupcakes with Emily

A week ago we had our friend Bonnie over for a Guitar Hero night. I was getting something out of the cupboard when Emily spotted the cake mixes. She got excited so I thought, why not! Out came everything to make cupcakes. Emily climbed up on the chair and helped pour the wet ingredients, and she handled the electric beaters by herself. I did the eggs much to her dismay. She just took charge and started pointing at things for me to do everytime I tried to help with the beaters. :) She wanted to help pour the cupcakes in but I said no. The minute I turned around to see if the oven was preheated, she took the measuring cup and "finished" filling up the cupcakes.

Needless to say I need to not only empty some of the batter out but clean up the table. I told her she could fill a small cake pan with the rest of the batter. She was quite happy to do it but when she was done she insisted it still needed to be stirred.

Her favourite part, I think, was when they were cooked and I let her "ice" her cupcake and put candy stars on it. The next morning when she woke up she wanted to have it for breakfast as well!

No Baby Yet Contest

Just wanted to let people know that no baby has been born yet. Doctor thought it might be this weekend, but so far no baby. I am writing this post because I feel like hosting a little contest. Ie: I ran into my friend Elaine's mother last night. She told me that she thinks I am having a boy and the baby will be 6lbs 13oz. So I am asking for people to either comment on this blog or email me their predictions. Whoever gets it right or is the closest will win a prize. I something in mind for the prize but it might not work for everyone so the prize will probably change with who wins. :) Feel free to make more than one prediction. My family members already know that the doctor is predicting another small baby. Thought I would mention that to make this contest fair. :) Emily was 6 lbs 11 1/2 oz. Who knows how long you have to make predictions so let me know soon!

Monkey See Monkey Do

My sister Rita posted an interesting site showing how to do different hairstyles in your daughter's hair. I glanced through it and thought it was neat but knowing deep down there was NO WAY that Emily would sit through it. But this morning I saw Rita's post and Cassie's hair looked really cute so I thought I'll give it a try. I was too lazy to go back and look at any of the steps on how to do any particular hair style. I decided to use my memory. :) This is the finished product. Nothing like the original but it still turned out cute.

Jumping Jumperoo

We had always wanted to get Emily a Jumperoo when she was little because we were sure she would love one. A couple that I am friends with just gave us their jumperoo for the new baby. Their twins were not the biggest fans of it and they don't want to store it until the next baby. It was so fantastic of them to think of us. Emily loves it! I was going to put it away until the baby is big enough for it but Emily would never forgive me. It's a good thing that she doesn't weigh very much! Enjoy the video! (What you can't hear her saying is, "Wheee..... Wheee...." as she makes the toys slide back and forth. She proceded to put her huge Curious George in the jumparoo next and helped his hands move the toys, while she made the same sound.)

Emily and her new friends

Emily loves to talk to her friend in the mirror when I am blow drying her hair in the morning. She has now discovered that their are three friends in the mirror. (I must also preface and say that she does know that she has a reflection but she was confused by the three.) Here is a picture of her and her friends. She stayed and chatted for 10 minutes.

Beautiful Moments

Today I laid down for a nap in the middle of the afternoon. (I love this no work thing) Emily was taking a nap so I thought I would seize the moment. About 15 minutes later Emily climbed up onto my bed and jumped on me. She just wanted to sit and chat. Landon came in 10 minutes later and laid down with us. It was so much fun. Emily kept holding my face in both of her hands, say she loved me and give me a kiss. Then she would snuggle/wrestle her dad and then come back to me for a hug and kiss. We teased her by singing. I would sing one line of a song, Emily would put her finger to her lips and "shh" me. Then Landon would sing the next line, and she would do the same thing to him. The minute he stopped, I would start. We were laughing so hard by the time the song was done because Emily was looking so stern with us. She just creates such love in our home. She is excited about "the baby" and is loving all the new stuff that is showing up. (ie. bassinet, rocking chair, etc) It was a perfect afternoon. I am looking forward to more in the future!

Dancing Emily

My sister Rita, picked up a skirt with a music box in it, last year for Emily. I picked it up at Christmas and forgot to give it to Emily until Sunday. She loves it. She loves to smack her butt to make it play music. She danced for hours. I didn't know that she knew to move her arms side to side. She skips and twirls. SOOOO Cute! I didn't get a very good video because she wanted the camera the minute it was turned on. My dad got a really great home video of it though. Enjoy!

Hay Baby Bowtique

My sister in law Haylee has started her own business! She is making bows, headbands and beanies for babies and toddlers. She is also making the beanies for adults. I just wanted to post the site address and some pictures. Please visit! The orders are customizable and the prices are completely affordable and really cute. The headbands don't leave marks on newborns heads, which I love. Great gifts!

Random Pictures

Emily looked sooo cute on Sunday. Too bad she doesn't always agree with having her photo taken!

I made some cute bows for her hair but you can't see them very well.

Thought I would post the newest belly picture. 3 and a half weeks to go!

My Daughter's Unique Style

Tonight Emily decided to try a new way of wearing her sunglasses. Around her waist! Here is the only picture I could get. (Running away from the camera is her new favourite past-time!)

My sweet family

Emily loves to cuddle. She has since she was born but just recently it has really become obvious. Landon and I love it. The only time I don't is when she gets annoyed with my belly getting in the way and she feels she needs to push on it to make it go away. :) The other night I turned around and this is what I saw............

New Haircut

The funniest thing happened today; my sister Rita posted pictures of her new haircut. Now, her haircut is really nice. The funny thing is that I had my mom cut my hair last week. Rita hasn't seen it, actually no one outside of PR has. The funny part of this is that Rita and I have almost identical hair cuts. :) Gotta love being a twin!

Here is Rita's haircut...... What do you think?
