Random Pictures from Today

Landon fell asleep on the couch with Collin. I have such a great husband!

This is Emily's hat our friend Rova, from the Philippines, bought her while we were visiting her over there. I love it! So does Emily!

Me and my cute son.

Doctor's Visit

Collin went to the doctor today for a one week check up. He was given a complete bill of health. Dr. Human says that he is healthy in every way. And surprise of all surprise he weighs in at 7lbs 1oz. Yesterday the public health nurse was here and he weighed in at 6lbs 15oz. If he keeps going like this he will be my little chunker. :) Today could very well be our last visit with Dr. Human. We are really going to miss seeing him! We can either see him again for Collin's one month checkup or go back to our family doctor. We love Dr. Hocking but it has been really nice getting to know Dr. Human. I find it difficult to think about having anyone else deliver my children. I may just have to come back to Powell River to have my kids so that I won't have to find anyone else. :) He told me that we need to have at least four more kids. He is so good with Emily and with us. He always has a fascinating story about South Africa to share as well. (That is where he is from.) We are truly going to miss seeing.

Daddy's Little Tweety Bird

When Landon was a baby, his mom tells me he looked just like Tweety Bird. For Christmas a few years ago, before Emily was thought of, Vauna gave us a sleeper that had Tweety Bird on it. (Everyone else was pregnant and she didn't want to leave us out.) Landon was excited for Emily to wear it. Well I misplaced it and so I think she was only able to wear it once before she grew out of it. Today, Collin wore it. We decided it was unisex enough for him to wear it. My friend Bonnie would be proud of me because there are tiny pink "x"s on it. :) Since Collin looks like Landon we figured it was a perfect tribute.

The First Week

I can't believe it.... Collin is six days old already. So much has changed in so little time. I really can't imagine our family without him. Emily loves him, a little too much at times. She gets upset with how much time he takes from her mom but she seems to take it out on me not him. We are so blessed to have such great kids. And friends. The Relief Society has provided meals every night we have been home so far. It has relieved so much stress not having to worry or think about dinner. The wonderful phone calls, emails, etc from our other friends and family have been fantastic. It is wonderful to share this experience with others. Enjoy a few new pictures!
PS Our great news today is that the public health nurse came by and weighed Collin and he now weighs 6lbs 15 oz! 6 ounces past his birth weight!

Emily loves all her new "toys"..... Her dolls have many new blankets, swings, etc. I need to remember to take a picture the next time she climbs into Collin's car seat and goes to "sleep".

We have pictures of Emily sleeping like this with her dad!

Giving her brother some luvs!

We are Home!

It is so great to finally be home. Our little family. I won't say it hasn't been absolutely crazy and I am remembering the parts about breastfeeding that I'm not a fan of..... but I love my family. Here is the link to the pictures I put up on my facebook account. Collin is calling for his mommy so I had better go.... so enjoy!

Our Baby Is Here

Ok so this is Rita as the parents are busy in the hospital enjoying their new buddle. Collin Landon was born this morning at 2:15. He is 6 lbs 10oz and 20 inches long. He has blonde hair and according to his mom and nursing staff looks just like his daddy. I will post pictures as soon as they are sent to me.

Friends well really Family

The Corbett's have always played a big part in my life. And thankfully they play a big part in Emily's life as well. Bonnie is leaving for her mission to Russia on Wednesday and we are all going to miss her. Emily may miss her even more than me. She sees Bonnie as one of her best friends and definately a great playmate. I can't believe what Emily can get Bonnie to do. But it is great to see Emily so happy. Thanks, Bonnie, for being such a great sport!
Tonight the Corbetts joined us for Family Home Evening. Margaret was nice enough to bring Trifle (my favourite). We played some Guitar Hero and watched a movie. It was sad when they left because it may be the last time for 18 months I get to hang out with Bonnie. We shall really miss her! Here are some fun pictures from the night!

When little girls sleep.....

Couldn't help myself..... The picture was too cute!
